It’s a pretty safe assumption that most people do not eat out every day of the week, and quite a few people are trying to stick to a healthier diet and lifestyle. We know that’s all well and good, but it’s also a fairly common belief that life is too short to not enjoy an overly satisfying meal from time to time! Cincinnati is perfect for that, as we have so many restaurants that offer everything from gourmet doughnuts to massively stacked burgers. If you’re in the mood to indulge and treat yourself to an over-the-top meal, then check out these 10 Cincinnati-area restaurants.
1. Bard's Burgers & Chili (3620 Decoursey Ave., Covington, KY 41015)
This hidden gem in Northern Kentucky is not so hidden anymore! The food at this "dive that's worth the drive" is incredibly delicious and the diner is the perfect place to give in to those cravings. Order their fresh burger, which is served on a donut, and a side of cheese curds. While you're at it, get some poutine and be sure to add the fried egg. If you're really hungry, give their Bardzilla Challenge a try!
This westside eatery is located on the corner of Wesselman and Harrison and serves portions you won't believe. Everything from their breakfast dishes to their burgers and triple-deckers are piled high with scrumptious goodness. The restaurant itself has a classic diner, mom and pop feel, which is good because you'll want to be comfortable while devouring any of their epic-sized menu items.
Montgomery Inn is a local favorite where you definitely will not leave hungry. You don't go to this rib-lovers paradise and order a small salad. Instead, you get the King Slab of ribs, a loaded baked potato, an appetizer of Saratoga Chips and Onion Straws... and a salad.
4. Greyhound Tavern (2500 Dixie Hwy, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017)
If you want to indulge in some classic southern comfort food, then head to Fort Mitchell and the timeless Greyhound Tavern. Their specials are particularly enticing, with large portions of fried chicken served family-style on Mondays and Tuesdays and all-you-can-eat cod on Thursdays. It's a charming spot in Greater Cincinnati to treat yourself to made-from-scratch favorites.
What better place to indulge than a New Orleans-inspired restaurant? BrewRiver is right near the river and has a great ambiance, but the food is what will really hit the spot. Everything is flavorful here, so pick a few favorites and treat your taste buds to some cajun specialties.
If you haven't been to this new eatery in Pendleton downtown yet, you must go there and indulge as soon as possible. The portions are just perfect here, and everything on the menu sounds so good, you'll want to try a little of it all. For your first visit, get the Yukon and add an egg (shown above), a side of grits, and a beverage of your choice. You'll have to fight the urge to go back the next day for more!
7. Brown Bear Bakery (116 E. 13th St., Cincinnati, OH 45202)
