Covington may be across the river from Cincinnati, but it has long been considered a southern suburb of our city. And why wouldn’t we want to claim it, especially with so many fun events and delicious restaurants popping up recently? Now we have another reason to venture across the bridge, thanks to a new restaurant that will satisfy all of your comfort food cravings. The Main Street Tavern is located on the corner of Main Street and 7th, right in the heart of Covington. Its southern-inspired menu will please your palate and you’ll definitely go nuts for this new eatery near Cincinnati.
If you've kept an eye on Covington, then you know that much like many other places around Cincinnati, several new eateries are opening up pretty frequently. One of the newest spots to grab a bite to eat is The Main Street Tavern.

After a paint job and a new sign, it's now a neighborhood gathering spot that welcomes residents and visitors from near and far. The Main Street Tavern has only been open for a few months, but it's already making a name for itself in this vibrant riverfront city.

The interior of the tavern is casual and has a cool, laid-back atmosphere. It's perfect for a group gathering, a meal and drink at the bar, or a family brunch.
While there are still signs of its former Irish pub identity, Main Street Tavern has put their own stamp on the place. You probably won't even notice the decor because you'll be too busy drooling over their insanely good menu!
Main Street Tavern is open Tuesday - Thursday from 11 am to 11 pm, Friday from 11 am to 12 am, Saturday from 10 am to 12 am, and Sunday from 10am to 3 pm (Main Street Tavern is closed on Mondays). Their menu has breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner specialties to choose from.
Some favorites are the Shrimp and Grits, "Bill Hates Cooking Pasta," and The Louisville Slugger, which is the restaurant's version of a Kentucky Hot Brown.
There are also specials offered, like the ones shown above, that taste as good as they look.

Don't make the mistake of driving past this corner restaurant with the makeshift Grand Opening sign hanging above the door; inside you'll find culinary creations that will fill you up, belly and soul.
