It’s pretty incredible how many small, local restaurants there are scattered throughout the neighborhoods of Cincinnati. Many of these cater to those who live nearby, but they are also perfect for trying something new and often sampling some of the best food in the city. Located in Anderson Township, Salem Gardens has been a neighborhood dive for decades and it’s one of the most delicious secrets in Cincinnati.
Salem Gardens is a local, family-friendly restaurant located on the corner of Salem Road and Beacon Street in Anderson Township. The restaurant has been around since 1926, so you can imagine how many memories have been made inside this little corner dive.
The misconception about Salem Gardens, due to its late hours and lively atmosphere, is that it is more of a bar than a restaurant. While it does serve that late-night crowd, it's also been named one of the best family-friendly dining spots in our city.
The restaurant is split into sections, and the largest is a dining area that's ideal for families and large groups. It has that perfect local, lived-in feel, and is welcoming for all who decide to dine here.
Don't forget to order something from the delicious menu. Salem Gardens is known for its burgers and wings, and one must-try is the Charlie O burger (shown below), which is an incredibly deluxe double cheeseburger.
The wings at Salem Gardens have also been lauded as some of the best in the city. They're meaty, flavorful, and ideal as a meal or for splitting with friends.
The rest of the menu offers plenty of tasty options, including salads, sandwiches, chicken, and more. The Southwest Salad (shown below) is piled high, as are the rest of their salads and meals.
Salem Gardens is a delicious secret hiding on the east side of Cincinnati and it’s definitely worth a try if you're in the area. Stop in for a burger and wings, relax, and take in all of the local flavors of this dive restaurant in Cincinnati.
Salem Gardens sits on a rather unassuming corner in Anderson Township, but it’s hiding delicious burgers and wings, and a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere you can only find in a neighborhood dive restaurant.
