It’s no secret that the local brewing scene is hopping in Cincinnati (pun intended), but there are some locations that have been around much longer than you may have realized. While now you can find a brewery, taproom, or brewpub in almost every neighborhood, someone had to lead the way and get this party started. If you ask a local brewery expert who should get that distinction, no doubt that Mt. Carmel Brewing Company would be mentioned. This brewery in Cincinnati has quite the history and story and today you can enjoy massive burgers, locals brews, and great views all at this east side gem in the Queen City.
Believe it or not, the roots of Mt. Carmel Brewing Company and its scenic farmhouse date back to 1924.
According to the brewery's website, this farmhouse is "where a stainless steel kettle and a family's dedication formed the cornerstone of Mt. Carmel Brewing Company." As the oldest craft microbrewery in Cincinnati, the Dewey family continued this endeavor in their own way back in 2005.
What began as a passion for making beer and starting a business turned into a successful brewing company that is a favorite in the Cincinnati area.
The lovely property is filled with history and is a unique brewery, especially when compared to others in our city. It's grown over the years and you can now visit for a drink outside or inside and even a delicious meal at their Public House.

Catch up with friends, watch the game, and try the delicious beverage and culinary creations that the brewery and Public House have to offer. It's one of those places that you'll find yourself heading back to over and over again.
And a big reason for those return visits will be the food.
What goes better with a cold brew than a massive burger? Mt. Carmel Brewing Company has some of the best in the city, among other delicious menu items. This is not your average bar or pub food.
The smoked chicken wings are also a favorite and make the perfect appetizer.
