With new restaurants flooding into Cincinnati, it’s important that we also continue to support local favorites, especially those that have been around for over 100 years. One such gem is Campanello’s Italian Restaurant on Central Avenue downtown. This authentic Italian eatery serves up some of the best pasta and other classics in the city and if you haven’t checked it off your Cincinnati dining bucket list, it’s time to give it a try.
Opened in 1906, Campanello's has been a favorite Italian restaurant in Cincinnati for decades.
It's the corner restaurant downtown that you've very likely seen and hopefully ventured into for some delicious, authentic Italian comfort food.
Its location is actually one of its main appeals, as it is situated right on the corner of Central Avenue and Perry Street, very close to the 5th Street exit from I-75.
It's the perfect dining spot before or after Bengals games, an event at Duke Energy Convention Center, or, let's be honest, anytime you have a craving for unbelievable Italian food.

Campanello's is family-owned and operated by the Campanello family, themselves. They've created a cozy, inviting atmosphere on the interior - the perfect ambiance for a big plate of pasta.
The wide variety of menu items are even more appealing when served atop the classic red and white checked tablecloths. Every meal starts with salad and bread, and be sure to order a glass of wine or something from their full bar.
Their menu is filled with all of the authentic Italian favorites and the portions are quite substantial, especially for the price. Lasagna is a favorite meal, and really anything smothered in their famous red sauce is worth a try.
Any time you can get a combination of their classics as a special, go for it. Other stand outs include Eggplant Parmesan, Ravioli, and their homemade soups are incredible. And don't forget to save room for one (or more) of their several options for dessert.
Campanello's Italian Restaurant is a classic Cincinnati eatery that should surely be tried by every single local at least once. If you have yet to try this century-old Italian favorite, then head to the corner of Central and Perry downtown and feel as if you're dining at an Italian dinner table with the Campanello family.
