Some foods are worth traveling a bit for and barbecue is one of them. You can get incredible pulled pork, brisket, and chicken right within the city limits, but there are even more mouthwatering options if you are willing to drive a little further. If you enjoy a local atmosphere with over-the-top burgers and BBQ, then head to Milan, Indiana and Hog Rock Cafe. You can tell from the name that this BBQ restaurant near Cincinnati is just a fun place to hang out, but it also has a delicious menu that keeps many locals coming back for more.
Hog Rock Cafe is a popular local restaurant in Milan, Indiana, not far from the west side of Cincinnati.
It's a great place to visit if you want to try something new and experience a menu that has something for everyone. And if the name of this restaurant sounds familiar, it is probably because it has been in the news recently. Owner Jeff Lanham is currently living on the roof of the restaurant until the Bengals win a game. It's looking like he may want to build something more permanent up there.
In addition to these lighthearted antics, Hog Rock Cafe is a wonderful place to dine and hang out.
There's space inside to spread out and it's ideal for all ages. Later in the evenings and of course during Bengals games, things can get a bit rowdy, but that just adds to the local character.

The restaurant also hosts live music many nights out of the year, so you can plan on hanging out for awhile to make the most of your drive.
A 1/2 lb. of fresh ground beed is grilled and then topped in a number of different ways. You can always create your own, but we recommend the Hangover (it has bacon, egg, cheese, and goetta!) or the "Rodney" burger where the chef will send out whatever he feels like (and it's always delicious).
There are also dinner entrees, such as ribeye steak, and other specials offered daily and nightly.
Be sure to ask about the specials because they are always incredible. The menu also has an impressive list of appetizers if you want to bring a group and split a mouthwatering selection of them.
Hog Rock Cafe has a cool name and an even cooler atmosphere.
And with a menu like this, it's no wonder it is a local favorite and worth a drive to the outskirts of Cincinnati.
