The Queen City is a lovely place to live but in the fall, many creepy attractions pop up to celebrate this Halloween season. It seems there is a Halloween store on every corner, scary movies take over our TVs and movie screens, and of course those who enjoy a good thrill are hunting down the best haunted houses. There are plenty of ways to get scared out of your wits within city limits, but with just a 90-minute drive you can experience the world’s longest haunted house. The Lewisburg Haunted Cave near Cincinnati is a trail that takes you through an actual cave, real bats and all. It’s been called the best haunted house in the state, the region, and even the country, so this terrifying attraction is worth the drive.
If you enjoy spending your fall evenings waiting for your chance to try some of the scariest haunted attractions in Cincinnati, then we have one to add to your list.
The Lewisburg Haunted Cave is about 90 minutes from Cincinnati and is worthy of the drive. While some haunted houses are less than a half an hour in length, this real cave trail has been recognized as the longest in the country.
This haunted attraction isn't a manmade cave where they try to create a scary atmosphere. It is a REAL cave, 80 feet below ground.
You'll descend into the cave for a 50-minute experience, which is why we think it's worth the drive to get there. Tickets are $19 for adults ($23 on Saturdays in October), which is also a great deal given the length of the haunt.

The atmosphere is frightening on its own, as you realize you are underground. But the cave actors and staff do an outstanding job of adding even more terrifying characters and scenes to the experience.
Of course the haunted house plays this up with its own additions, and you can expect many other bone-chilling images, characters, and situations as you make your way along this 3,500-ft. trail.
If you'd like to experience the cave this fall, but without all of the horror, then hop on a historical wagon ride tour.
These run on the same days and times as the haunted cave and are ideal for a family outing. Adult tickets are $10 and children under 12 are $5. The last ride leaves at 11 p.m. and you'll be happy to know that this non-scary wagon ride goes through a totally different section of the cave.
