Thanks to our city’s love and appreciation for the past, you can still have a few of the same experiences you could have in Cincinnati back in the 1950s. A lot has changed in the Queen City over the years, but if you look for it, much remains the same. For a literal taste of nostalgia, head to Hathaway’s Diner in downtown Cincinnati. Recently named the best diner in Ohio by The Food Network, Hathaway’s almost left Carew Tower at one point. But this local treasure remains and if you haven’t visited in the past 60 years, there’s no better time than the present.
There are many local eateries scattered across downtown Cincinnati, but Hathaway's has been a favorite for years, even decades.
This diner is located inside Carew Tower, which was once the tallest building in Cincinnati. When you eat at the diner, consider a trip to the top for the views!
Many places try to create a 50s-style atmosphere, but Hathaway's doesn't have to create anything. It is an actual 50s diner.
It opened in 1956 and has been serving hungry Cincinnatians ever since. After some recent questioning on its lease and debate as to whether or not it would stay open, Hathaway's now continues to preserve memories and make new ones.

You'll love the retro feel of the decor and atmosphere at Hathaway's.
With a classic black and white checkered floor and pops of red, there's no debating this restaurant's roots (even though many regulars miss the old decor).

The menu is just as classic and offers so many favorites.
But if not, add it to your Cincinnati dining bucket list. This 50s diner is a local treasure and now officially the best diner in Ohio.
In a state like ours that appreciates good food and has so many great local restaurants, it’s quite an honor to be named the best diner in Ohio. Hathaway’s has long been a favorite diner in Cincinnati and it continues to get the recognition it deserves. Do you love this 50s diner in Cincinnati? What’s your favorite thing to order?
