With so many unique experiences offered in Cincinnati, you’ll never run out of new things to try. Locals of all ages have access to a wide variety of activities, arts, sporting events, and parks, but you could try for a lifetime to do it all and not succeed. If you happen to be a fossil lover, then this particular park definitely needs to be added to your must-see list. Trammel Fossil Park in Sharonville is a one-of-a-kind property where you can dig up and take home 300-million-year-old fossils, and this epic experience is right here in the Queen City.
Trammel Fossil Park is located just off the Sharonville exit of 275, in a rather peculiar spot.
You may think you're going the wrong way, but this intriguing property is, indeed, right in the middle of an industrial area of our city.
The 10 acres were generously donated by the R.L. Trammel family so that generations of passionate fossil hunters could spend time digging and searching on the land.
There is a water fountain and portable restroom, but keep in mind the amenities are limited. There's also very little shade, so wear a hat and sunscreen!

Most of the acreage is similar to a rock quarry, with various rocks scattered across a hill.
You can also go up into the woods a bit and there are some flat spots for the younger diggers. Wear sturdy shoes and don't forget your bucket and shovel.
While you won't find any dinosaur or mammoth bones in this park (but please let us know if you do!), you will find plenty of Bryozoans, Brachiopods, Crinoids, and Gastropods. And the best part is that you can take them with you!
Don't worry if your middle school science lessons have escaped you; the park has plenty of information available to help you identify and learn about what you find.
The park is open every day from dawn until dusk, so you can experience it for yourself. Get your hands a little dirty and try something new at this epic fossil park in Cincinnati.
Trammel Fossil Park is filled with prehistoric fun for all ages and this hidden gem is worth a visit for a unique experience in Cincinnati. Have you dug around this epic fossil park? Where else can you hunt for fossils around Cincinnati? Let us know in the comments!
