Cruises and excursions offered by BB Riverboats are some of the most popular attractions in our city. Most have heard of and seen this picturesque collection of riverboats that dock in Newport and often found floating on the Ohio River. While the shorter cruises are well known, you may not realize that BB Riverboats also offers overnight getaways. Coming up in just a few weeks, The River Hop Tour will take you on a four-day, three-night cruise on the Ohio with stops at many exciting destinations and unmatched views of the vibrant fall foliage.
To begin this riverboat adventure, guests will board the Belle of Cincinnati in Newport and prepare for an unforgettable few days. Everything is planned and arranged for you, so all there is to do is relax, take in the scenery, and the unique experiences aboard the riverboat and at each stop.
The cruise takes off on November 4, 2018, which should be right around the peak of fall color in our area. Boating along the Ohio is always scenic, but it's especially beautiful with the colors of fall painting the banks of the river.
There are many places on the boat to grab a seat and take in the scenery. You'll also be able to enjoy food, drinks, and entertainment while aboard the Belle of Cincinnati.
The first stop on the tour is historic Rabbit Hash. If you've never visited this charming river town, it is filled with history and heart, as it was rebuilt after a fire not long ago. You can read more about it in our previous article here.
After spending time in Rabbit Hash, the boat will continue along the river to Belterra Casino and Resort. You'll have time to relax and enjoy the destination and then spend the night to rest up for another day of excitement on the river.
Louisville is the next stop for the riverboat and you'll enjoy a tour of the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. Louisville is a great town to visit that's close to Cincinnati by road, but it's even more fun to arrive via historic riverboat.
After boarding the Belle again, you'll get the unique opportunity to cruise through the McAlpin Lock and Dam. This is a rare chance to experience this way of river life firsthand.
After an overnight in Corydon, Indiana, day three is spent exploring the enchanting town of Santa Claus. This is a great place to get in the holiday spirit.
The last leg of the trip is spent in Owensboro, a lively riverfront town in western Kentucky. You'll spend the night here and wake up with one final day of fall fun.
The last excursion takes place in the morning at the International Bluegrass Music Museum and Hall of Fame. This brand new facility is unique, interesting, and filled with musical history and intriguing stories.
The rest of the day will be on the river, as the Belle of Cincinnati makes its way back to Newport. You'll have several hours to sit back and witness more of the scenery and reminisce about your incredible fall getaway aboard Cincinnati's beloved riverboat.
The River Hop Tour on the Belle of Cincinnati is a unique excursion on a one-of-a-kind riverboat that’s sure to be a memorable fall getaway. Did you know BB Riverboats offered these tours? Would you like to go? Let us know in the comments!
