Cincinnati is home to so many great places to eat that it’s not surprising if you experience a few cravings while away. If you grew up in Cincinnati and then moved away, it’s likely some of the places on this list have stuck with you and creep back into your life in the form of nagging cravings. Even if you’ve never left, you probably still long for these 12 foods that every Cincinnatian misses when they leave town.
If you're out of town and this craving hits, things can get ugly. If you're like most Cincinnatians, the first stop when you return to your hometown is your favorite Skyline Chili restaurant for a taste of that famous chili and cheese. Luckily it can be "Skyline Time" anytime with the ability to ship cans of it - but we all know it's just not the same.

Who are we kidding? We crave these sweet, crunchy, gooey treats even if we had them yesterday! They are waffle perfection and definitely create some intense cravings.
Whether you prefer a unique concoction or a simple glazed, these donuts are unforgettable. When you're away, you not only miss their sweet taste, but the smell of the tiny little shop in OTR and the anticipation of waiting in line for your heart's desire.
Cincinnatians have been craving Zip's burgers for decades, along with their onion rings, chili, and other delicious menu items. It's likely on your short list of must-stops when you arrive back in your hometown.
There are newer barbecue joints in the city that are giving this local legend a run for its money, however, it's that famous sauce and crispy Saratoga chips that we still crave. It's best enjoyed at the Boathouse with a view of the river - what a way to welcome yourself back to Cincinnati!
