There are unique eateries and bars popping up all over Cincinnati, but there’s one in particular that stands out, as it offers something that nearly everyone in the world loves: cheese. Urban Stead Cheese is a cheese bar, meaning it is an artisanal cheesemaking operation that also serves wine and beer and is a great new gathering spot in the city. The owners have restored an old building in the East Walnut Hills/Evanston neighborhood and are now part of the excitement happening in this revitalized area. This unique cheese bar is one-of-a-kind and a spot that with make all of your cheesiest dreams come true.
Nothing brings people together quite like cheese, wine, and local beer, and we now have a place in Cincinnati that satisfies all of these needs. Urban Stead Cheese is a destination that has been two years in the making and it is now open for the public to enjoy.
Owners Scott Robbins and Andrea Siefring-Robbins come from a food and beverage background, and together they had a dream of bringing the art of cheese making to the Cincinnati community.
Rather than build from scratch, they opted to repurpose an old school in the East Walnut Hills/Evanston neighborhood and become a vital part of this vibrantly evolving area of the city.
As a cheese bar, it's an experience where you can learn about the cheese-making process, taste the creations, and also enjoy a glass of wine or your favorite local beer.
You can learn all about the steps taken to create a variety of cheeses, including cheddar, gouda, a gruyere-style cheese, and a German-style of spreadable cheese known as Quark.
The taste testing at Urban Stead Cheese is arguably the best part.
Their fresh cheese curds are like nothing else available in the area, and you can taste the love and effort that goes into making them. A variety of options are available during open hours, so you'll always have a reason to stop by and try a cheesy treat.
As this is a brand new addition to the cheese-making and serving business, new cheeses and other offerings will continue to change and become available.
Cheeses need to age, and Urban Stead Cheese wants to get it just right, so we may have to be patient to try some of their latest creations and upcoming offerings.
They do have cheese available now, as well as cheese boards. New varieties will be added soon!
Another thing that makes this unique business special is that they care just as much about the Cincinnati community as they do their artisan cheese. They work with local farmers and businesses and hope to do even more of that as time goes on.
Since you're likely anxious to taste test these creations for yourself, here are their current hours: Tuesday through Friday from 2 pm to 9 pm, Saturday from 12 pm to 9 pm, and Sunday from 12 pm to 6 pm.
