Just 25 miles southeast of Cincinnati is one of Ohio’s largest and most beautiful state parks. No matter when you visit East Fork State Park you’ll be impressed by the shimmering lake waters and dense woodland areas. Take a break from the city and put some distance between you and the rest of the world with a camping trip to East Fork State Park.
East Fork State Park was established in 1978 with the creation of the East Fork Reservoir. The park is popular with campers, hikers, and water sport enthusiasts!
The massive 4,870-acre park seems to offer visitors almost endless opportunities. The lake has 2,160 acres of water and more than 32 miles of shoreline to explore.
You won't have to worry about finding a great camping spot at this park. There are 416 camping sites available that range from primitive spots to full hook-up RV camping. You can event rent-a-camp that includes a tent, dining fly, cooler, cook stove, and other equipment.
Hikers will be delighted by the endless miles of trails to explore. Overall there are 94 miles of trails, many of which are under 2 miles and are great for beginners. You'll also find challenging backcountry trails perfect for advanced hikers.
Motorized boats are allowed on East Fork Lake. The lake is great for fishing and is full of smallmouth, hybrid striped bass, crappie, catfish, and carp. In the summer you can find many people boating for pleasure while pulling tubes and water skiers.
Kayaking, paddleboarding, and canoeing are also super popular among visitors. It's a great way to get some exercise and explore the shoreline. Swimming is also allowed at East Fork, so if you get too hot while paddling just hop into the lake to cool off.
Scenic views are easy to find around East Fork State Park. Whether you're exploring near the dam or wandering through the woods, you're sure to spot something beautiful.
