Now that it’s officially fall, all of the pools are closed, and the air is a bit cooler, you may be wondering when we’ll start to see the colors of the season here in Cincinnati. Each year, we are treated to a colorful masterpiece on the trees and other plants throughout the Queen City and fall 2018 is really going to shine. The yellows, oranges, and reds are slowly beginning to make their way out and you’ll be happy to hear that our fall foliage is expected to be bright and bold this year.
Cincinnati was hanging on to summer until the very last minute with hot temperatures and humid air. But thankfully, with the new season, cooler air has arrived and our area is poised for a beautiful fall.
Of course every fall the leaves slowly change throughout the season, but the exact timing varies a bit each year. If you're curious when the colors will be at their peak this year, just check out this handy, interactive map from the Smoky Mountains website.
The map above shows that on October 22nd, we will be nearing the peak in fall colors. This is still dependent on upcoming weather patterns, but it tends to be fairly accurate. The map below shows that we will be at peak on October 29th and then the color begins to fade away into November.
Whenever the colors do decide to peak this year, you can expect to see scenes such as this. Below is the view from an airplane as you approach CVG. Just imagine those colors from the ground.
