There are wonderful places to eat scattered all over Cincinnati, but there are also a few specific blocks around town that have a concentrated collection of amazing eateries. You may first think of all of the newer restaurants in OTR, and that is definitely one of the spots for amazing food! But we want to head into downtown and the block around 6th and Walnut. If you stand on this street corner and look around, you’ll notice that there are many restaurants that you’d love to score a reservation for, and we can’t blame you because this one city block in Cincinnati has some of the best food on the planet.
The property found around the intersection of 6th and Walnut downtown is really ideal for great restaurants.
With the Aronoff Center, the Contemporary Arts Center, and Fountain Square all very close by, the area makes for the perfect outing in Cincinnati. If you have yet to enjoy the delicious meals that are offered on this city block, allow us to share some of the favorites.
Nada is located right on the corner of 6th and Walnut and is a vibrant, modern eatery with upscale Mexican food.
It's perfect for couples and large groups and has a great atmosphere. Their tacos and other menu items are creative, fresh, and flavorful. The chips and guacamole may just be the best in the city.

If you turn the corner and head down East 6th, you have to be careful not to miss Sotto, an underground Italian restaurant that offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience.
The authentic food will fill you up, belly and soul, and you'll love the dark, romantic ambiance. It's ideal for a special night out, but plan ahead because reservations can be hard to come by!
Right next to Sotto is the elegant restaurant, Boca.
At Boca, you'll find superb service and an unforgettable meal. Their menu is innovative and perfectly created to satisfy any palette or craving. It's also ideal for a special evening out, or a drink and small bites before a show.
Visit Prime Cincinnati for a mouthwatering steak and a lovely glass of wine. They are also known for outstanding service and a relaxing, romantic atmosphere.
For a chic dining experience, check out Metropole, located within the 21C Museum Hotel on Walnut, across from the Aronoff.
The space is unlike any other in the city and the the menu focuses on dishes cooked in a custom-built hearth. You'll find meals to try here that you can't experience anywhere else in Cincinnati.
Next to Metropole is a mainstay in the Cincinnati restaurant and bar scene - Nicholson's.
This classic gastropub has a genuine Scottish tavern atmosphere and an authentic menu to match. It's a great spot for drinks before or after a show, or to warm up with their fish n' chips or shepherd's pie.

It's unbelievable to think that you can find all of this deliciousness within one city block of Cincinnati.
And, of course, there are many other restaurants within walking distance of this corner and with the streetcar, there really is no limit to the incredible food you can experience in downtown Cincinnati.
