Cincinnati chili is an iconic Ohio food. It isn’t just every Ohioan’s favorite way to warm up on a cold day in the Buckeye State; it’s its very own food group! And while you can find this delicious dish all across Ohio, from the legendary Skyline Chili to the fan-favorite Camp Washington Chili, there’s a restaurant in Ohio that’s taking Cincinnati chili to the next level with its epic ramen creation.
Mochiko Cincy is an Asian American cafe in Cincinnati, Ohio, serving coffee and pastries in the morning and dine-in dinner in the evening.
This dish, listed on the menu as Cincinnati-style Tsukemen, is, well, a revelation. It started as a one-off special but quickly earned a spot on the regular menu.
Thick, chewy dipping noodles, rich Cincinnati chili broth, seasoned pork, tamago, and shredded cheddar, all married together in a hot, steaming bowl of deliciousness... what could be better?
The noodles are made in-house daily; this is just one thing that sets Mochiko Cincy apart -- and has us craving our Cincinnati-style chili with fresh, hand-cut noodles, but we digress.
When you go to Mochiko Cincy, the chili ramen is obviously a must-try. But we challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and try some new-to-you-dishes, because eating, above all, should be an exciting and dynamic experience!
Have you tried the Cincinnati chili ramen from Cafe Mochiko, or do you consider it Cincinnati chili blasphemy? Do you know of any other restaurants taking this Ohio icon to the next level? Share it with us in the comments below, or nominate it for a future Only In Ohio article!
