Fortunately, Ohio is full of several picturesque farms off the beaten path that feature festive fall activities the whole family can enjoy, such as corn mazes, pumpkin patches, apple picking and hayrides. The following are 11 of our favorite farms in Ohio—and they’re especially charming in the autumn months.
This family owned and operated farm in Wayne County features pre-picked pumpkins, u-pick pumpkins, corn mazes, hayrides and more. It's open Tuesday - Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Ramseyer Farms is located at 4000 Ramseyer Lane, Wooster, OH 44691.
Choose an already picked pumpkin or take a hayride out to the field to pick your own. Fulton Farms is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday - Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday - Sunday. It is located at 2393 State Rt. 202, Troy, OH 45373.
At Boyert's Greenhouse and Farm during the fall season, you can roast marshmallows by the open fire, get lost in a hay bale maze, pick the perfect pumpkin and take a hay ride. It is located at 7171 Wooster Pike, Medina, OH 44256.
Pick your own pumpkins at Way Farms in Pike County from September 17 - October 30 on weekdays from 4 p.m. -7 p.m., Saturdays from 12 p.m. -7 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m. -5 p.m. It is located at 403 East Emmitt Ave., Waverly, OH 45690.
Open daily from September 17 through October 30, this fruit farm features a fun fest complete with pumpkin painting, hay rides, pony rides and more. Admission is $5 per person on weekdays and $8 per person on weekends. It is located at 11414 Caves Rd., Chesterland, OH 44026.
Open until the end of October, this family fun farm also features hayrides, pumpkins, a mini zip line and other fall activities. The Fury Tail Farm is located at 19407 State Rt. 117, Waynesfield, OH 45896.
Ohio's first corn maze features several family-fun activities. Leaders Family Farm is open from September 23 to October 30 every weekend. It is located at the intersection of State Rt. 24 and County Rd. 16, Napoleon, OH 43545.
Pick your own pumpkin on Fridays (3 p.m. - 7 p.m.), Saturdays (10 a.m.-7 p.m.) and Sundays (12 p.m.-6 p.m.) at this family farm, greenhouse and market from September 24 to October 30. Honey Haven Farm is located at 1327 County Rd. 1475, Ashland, OH 44805.
Visit this local apple orchard, (which features pick-your-own pumpkins and apples), Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Johnston Fruit Farms is located at 2790 Airport Hwy., Swanton, OH 43558.
After you've picked your own pumpkin at this family owned and operated farm, try your hand at pumpkin chunking with their trebuchet. Simmons Farms is located at 3020 Schaller Rd., Bethel, OH 45106.
During the October weekends, this family farm features a Fall Mums and Pumpkin Festival, complete with hayrides and pumpkins you pick right from the field. Lincoln Ridge Farms is located at 6588 Pollock Rd., Convoy, OH 45832.
