The restaurant business is tough, and in some locations, it seems like restaurants come and go every few years. On the other hand, some Ohio dining spots have been around for more than 100 years, and are still going strong. The Buxton Inn in Granville has been around for 106 years, and it just keeps getting better.
The Buxton Inn was a grand hotel when it opened in 1812.
With its glittering chandeliers, magnificent ballroom, and stagecoach court, it was the gem of Granville. President William H. Harrison was the first of three U.S. Presidents to stay here.
Though it faced demolition in the 1970s because it had fallen into disrepair, this historic inn was fully restored instead, preserving an important part of Granville's history.
The Lincoln Dining Room is in the original part of the inn that dates back to 1812. The original windows still have their wavy glass, and other historic details include the original fireplace and woodwork.

The Bonnie Bounell dining room, or "Blue Room" pays tribute to Ethel Houston Bounell, an opera star and former owner who loved the color blue.
Some say that she haunts the inn today, and with a space this beautiful, you can see why she'd never want to leave!
The airy Garden Room is filled with light. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass ceiling make this atrium space the perfect spot for Sunday brunch on a spring day.
Other options include a Caprese wrap, Buxton burger, grilled chicken parm, and more. Lunch is served Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fish and chips are light and flaky, served with tangy coleslaw.
