I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
There’s nothing more classic Americana than a summer stroll down a boardwalk or promenade. Here in the Buckeye State, Cedar Point Amusement Park has long been *the* favorite summer spot for Ohioans — and this year, it promises to be better than ever. The newest attraction at Cedar Point, The Boardwalk is an impossibly nostalgic experience that’s a literal stroll down Memory Lane in Ohio.
Since first opening in 1870, Cedar Point Amusement Park has been *the* summertime hot spot for Ohioans.
Cedar Point is a 364-acre amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio, that is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the U.S. It's a beloved destination for roller coaster enthusiasts, thrill-seekers, and families, and its location on the shores of Lake Erie makes it unlike any other amusement park in the country.
Cedar Point is home to 70 rides, including 17 world-class roller coasters, plus the Cedar Point Shores Waterpark, on-site hotel accommodations, and more. It's more than just a destination; it's an experience... and one that's about to get even more thrilling!
The Boardwalk joins Cedar Point as an entirely new area of the park. This area will be a modern-day take on the experience of yesteryear complete with new experiences, a Grand Pavilion dining venue, and classic boardwalk.
Located just steps away from the very Lake Erie shoreline that made Cedar Point famous, The Boardwalk is the epitome of good, old-fashioned summer fun and will include lots of new rides and experiences.
Two existing family attractions -- Matterhorn and Scrambler -- will be relocated to The Boardwalk with Scrambler renamed the Atomic Scrambler. The Tiki Twirl spinning ride will also be refreshed and renamed as a former park classic called Calypso. These rides join the new Wild Mouse, Giant Wheel, Troika, Dodgem, GateKeeper and WindSeeker in the park’s new hub for a full range of pint-sized to giant-sized thrills for the whole family.
From the simple pleasures of swimming and sunbathing in the late-1800s to the modern-day roller coasters, rides, water park, events, and resort, Cedar Point Beach has been the anchor of both the park’s history and traditional summer vacations for generations of Ohioans.
And with the addition of The Boardwalk, this Ohio attraction is sure to become even more charming and delightfully nostalgic.
Summer in Ohio means many things, and starting this year, The Boardwalk is undoubtedly going to become an iconic and beloved part of this special season!
