1. The Emerald Necklace Trail
With 70 miles of paved and cinder trail mostly spanning Cuyahoga County, Cleveland's Emerald Necklace bike trail treats bike riders (as well as walkers and runners; it's a multi-use path) to a wide variety of gorgeous scenery. From historic bridges to rushing waterfalls and family picnic areas to lush hillsides, the Emerald Necklace trail is a must-bike for novice and pro bicyclists alike.
2. Morgana Trail
The Morgana Run Trail winds through Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood, making it an excellent choice for urban bicyclists. 5. Cleveland Lakefront Bikeway
Stretching 17 miles along the Cuyahoga County shoreline, the Cleveland Lakefront Bikeway offers bicyclists astounding views of the shores of Lake Erie as well as many Cleveland landmarks, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, First Energy Stadium, and the city skyline.
6. Harrison-Dillard Bikeway
There's no place in Cleveland quite like the Harrison-Dillard Bikeway. The trail runs alongside Martin Luther King Boulevard through the city's Cultural Gardens, which offer unique scenic views of intricate stonework and lush greenery and floral landscaping. The nearly four-mile trail runs into gorgeous University Circle and Wade Oval, so visiting any of the area's museums is easy during your outing.
7. The Chippewa Rail Trail
This multi-use trail is located in Medina County about 35 minutes south of downtown Cleveland. This asphalt trail is perfect for the whole family as it's smooth and makes for easy riding. Lined with lush botanical life, the trail is approximately 2.5 miles long and offers spectacular color-drenched views all summer long and well into the autumn.
8. The Western Reserve Greenway Trail
This multi-use trail in Ashtabula and Trumbull counties spans an impressive 44 miles. Located about one hour east of Cleveland, the Western Reserve Greenway Trail is ideal for expert bicyclists as well as families just looking to get some exercise in with the little ones. The paved trail is lined with a wide variety of trees and other plant life, and you can expect to see ample amounts of wildlife as you pedal your heart out.
9. The North Coast Inland Trail
This 13-mile paved pathway through Lorain County is known as "Lorain County's skinniest Metropark". The trail spans through greenery and farmland and is currently being extended even further. Located about 20 minutes west of Cleveland, this popular path welcomes not only bikes, but all unmotorized vehicles - with the exception of skateboards - as well as walkers and joggers.
