Over the last few years, pickleball has exploded in popularity, offering even non-sporty types an accessible and fun way to recreate. My husband and I have jumped on the pickleball bandwagon, purchasing a set of paddles and taking advantage of a neighborhood park. As our form improves and the weather turns cooler, I’d like to take our game indoors, to one of the many amazing pickleball complexes in Ohio. At the top of my list is Pickle & Chill, a state-of-the-art pickleball court in Ohio that’s truly on another level.
Pickleball is having a moment, and while there are lots of places to play pickleball in Ohio, Pickle & Chill is *the* premier pickleball hub in the state. It opened in 2022, and has set the bar high for other pickleball courts to follow.
The state-of-the-art facility boasts a total of 19 indoor and outdoor courts with ample sitting areas, plus libations, soft drinks, and snacks for sale... because dinking can sure work up an appetite!
Serious picklers can opt for a membership, but you won't need a membership to get in on the fun. Pickle & Chill's schedule is full of open play sessions for non-members of all ages and skill levels, from junior to senior, beginner to advanced, and everything in between.
To reserve a spot, simply select a time and level that fits with your schedule, and then book it through the site. You'll have to create a login the first time, but once you've set that up, selecting a pickleball session is easy-peasy!
What do you need to play pickleball? Great question! One of the best things about this sport is how affordable and accessible it is. You can pick up a pair of paddles at pretty much any price point; I recommend going with a Starter Set that includes two paddles, balls, and some sort of bag for easy transport.
Something I love about pickleball is how accessible and fun it is for all ages and athletic ability. At the courts by my house, my husband and I are often the youngest folks on the court, and we watch the other teams to pick up on their moves!
Fads come and go, of course, but pickleball is here to stay. It's a fun way to get your heart beating and engage in a little friendly competition, and the kind of sport with broad appeal that invites everyone to come play!
