Start what promises to be an epic day trip at 360 Burger in Cambridge, a popular burger joint that will leave you stuffed and ready for adventure at Salt Fork State Park.
If it’s a burger you’re craving, you won’t find better than one of the 360 burgers. The house burger, the 360 Burger, comes topped with American cheese, tomato, lettuce, and the special 360 sauce.
Mushroom fans will likely want to try the Bella Burger or the Shroom Burger. 360 Burger also grills such favorites as the classic burger and the spicy bacon burger.
If you see a burger you think would be perfect with chicken instead, you can make that substitute. You can also turn your burger into a salad.
A classic burger joint’s menu certainly wouldn’t be complete without hot dogs. Choose from the traditional all-natural beef hot dog, the bacon dog, or the 360 dog – the latter of which comes topped with such favorites as 360 sauce, smoked bacon, and peppers.
Now you just have to decide what to pair your burger or hot dog with – fresh-cut fries, cheese fries, or onion rings. Don’t forget to check out the drinks, too.
An old-fashioned ice cream float, a classic milkshake, or a fountain soda hits the spot sometimes while others you just can’t go wrong with a boozy milkshake, available in such flavors as banana cream pie.
Just a five-minute drive from 360 Burger, Salt Fork State Park is home to the scenic Stone House Loop Trail, a moderate trail that spans just 1.7 miles.
Bring along plenty of water for your trek, and wear shoes that support your ankles. The trail, which is rated moderate, can get rocky, and it sometimes gets muddy.
You’ll pass such scenic beauty as Salt Fork Lake and colorful wildflowers. The loop trail also leads to the historic Kennedy Stone House, a historic home that dates back to 1840. Check ahead of time to see if it’s open for tours on the day you visit.
After your hike, if you have time, explore some of the rest of the park. The park boasts a full list of activities – from archery and boating to fishing and swimming at the beach during the warmer months.
