I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.

December: The Box Hop (shipping container cabin), Rockbridge
One of the most unique accommodations in Ohio, the Shipping Container Cabin truly is on another level. Centered on 18.5 acres in Hocking Hills, The Box Hop is made out of three intermodal shipping containers that have been transformed into a glorious treehouse in the woods. The gas fireplace is sure to keep you nice and cozy in the winter, making for a quiet and sweet way to wrap up the holiday season. Please note, however, that due to its remoteness, the cabin may be difficult to access due to weather on the driveway. It will be plowed, and maintained after each winter storm, but during those months, an all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended.

What are some of the most amusing activities in Ohio?
Perry's Cave Family Fun Center (Put-In-Bay): When was the last time you looked at stalactites, stalagmites, and cave pearls on the inside of a cave? Heavily encrusted calcium carbonate deposits incredibly create these natural formations from centuries of water dripping from the ceiling. This unique, natural limestone cave lies 52 feet below the surface of South Bass Island in Lake Erie and is 208 feet long by 165 feet wide. It was discovered in 1813 by Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, the hero of the Battle of Lake Erie. Take a tour of this cool place, but bring a jacket because it usually stays at about 50 degrees in there.
Tabletop Board Game Cafe (Cleveland): This is one of the best ideas for fun. With several options for playing, one is the Monthly Mixer when folks play some fun new games and meet cool new people! Everyone wears a name tag and takes some snacks. Another monthly event is called Blood on the Clocktower Night. This is an evening of mystery, demons, and the like. In addition, a Game Clinic is offered two or three times a month, when the staff helps guide folks through a game new to them. A Storytelling Night takes place, and watch out for special events. What could be more special?
Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (Peninsula): Are you ready for some winter adventures? Then climb aboard these train excursions that go through Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Each hour-and-a-half ride offers something different, such as Cookies, Cocoa, and Coloring; Family Fun Loop: Board Games; Superheroes on the Train; and Royalty on the Rails. The last one gives folks a chance to receive autographs and take photos of some famous princesses, such as Tinkerbell, the Frog Princess, and Little Mermaid.
