Glen Ellen's history dates back to the 19th century when pioneer Charles V. Stuart purchased some land.

Today, the ruins of London’s home are inside the vast and beautiful Jack London State Historic Park .
The park also features a museum where visitors can delve deeper into the life and works of this literary genius. After immersing yourself in history, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the picturesque landscapes, and take in the same views that once sparked Jack London's creativity.
In October 2017, the entire community of Glen Ellen faced a severe setback when the Nuns Fire, part of the devastating Northern California wildfires, struck the area, leaving significant damage in its wake.
Though the recovery has been gradual, the town is making strides in restoring its bucolic landscapes. There are still many wineries to visit and historic sites to see.
