San Francisco has always been at the forefront of anything innovative, unique, risqué, and downright weird. And that’s what draws folks from all over the world to this famous city by the bay. When it comes to cuisine, you’ll find everything you can possibly imagine—and everything you can’t—here as well. Come along as we dive into one iconic restaurant that not only features the wackiest menu in town but also an incredible dinner show.
AsiaSF is located at 201 9th St. off of Howard St. in the SOMA (South of Market) neighborhood.
The enterprise is known for its amazing performers known as "The Glamorous Ladies of AsiaSF" and come from a variety of gender backgrounds. In fact, AsiaSF has been one of the forerunners in its efforts to empower and support the transgender community.
At AsiaSF you’ll find perhaps the wackiest menu in the city, an opt compliment to the zany dinner performances.
There aren’t many places where the menu features items like potato samosas, sake steamed mussels, tamarind chicken satays, Filet Mignon, Malaysian diver scallops, and their special ASIA-DILLA - a quesadilla stuffed with smoked duck or shiitake mushrooms, jack and manchego cheeses, Fresno peppers, and scallions, just to name a few. Now how’s that for wacky!

Pictured here is AsiaSF’s Grilled Shrimp Salad and their Cool Sesame Soba Noodles – savory buckwheat noodles mixed with marinated tofu, carrots, green onion, and English cucumbers, then tossed in a nutty, Chinese-style sesame sauce. Yum!
A perfect example of this is the Orange Lamb or Orange Tofu entrée. Both are sautéed in a mildly spiced orange sauce and served with coconut jasmine rice and a Thai cucumber salad.
Those who imbibe will find a wide array of signature cocktail options.
Have you been to AsiaSF? If so, we’d love to see your photos and hear about your experience there. You can also see more photos and find out about any special events on their Facebook page.
