Finding a beautiful swimming hole that is beautiful, clean, and not swarming with crowds is no easy task. However, we found a destination that may just fit the bill. You’ll find this underrated spring tucked away in a park in Sonoma County. Boasting a gorgeous setting, a large spring-fed lagoon, and plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy, you’ll definitely want to plan a visit to this destination during the upcoming months.
It's time to start thinking of all the incredible destinations you'd like to visit this summer, and this underrated spring should definitely be on your list. Hiding out in Santa Rosa, this gorgeous destination is the perfect spot to keep cool.
Spring Lake Regional Park is quite large and offers all sorts of outstanding recreational opportunities. From camping and hiking to fishing and boating, this place is chock full of natural beauty that will leave you in awe.
However, the highlight of the park—during summer, at least—is the swimming lagoon which is open daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Featuring a sandy beach, shaded lawns, and a plenty of space to lounge around, the lagoon has everything you could need for a day filled with fun and adventure.
Surrounded by redwoods and awe-inspiring scenery, the lagoon is a beautiful place to cool off on a particularly hot day. During the summer months, it's even home to an inflatable water park with floating slides, climbing walls, bridges, beams, and trampolines. Admission to the park is just $10 per person.
However, there's plenty of fun to be had at the spring-fed lagoon for free, as well. A portion of the lagoon is reserved for free swim and lap swims from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily. Admission to this section is completely free, although there are tubes and life vests available to rent.
Additionally, the park is home to a seasonal cafe where you can grab some munchies to snack on in between swimming sessions. Complete with shaded tables and chairs, you won't see any reason to leave this little oasis!
