Sinkyone Wilderness is a hidden gem of a park located in Mendocino County, along the southern portion of the Lost Coast. The park stretches for 60 miles and is composed of some seriously beautiful coastline. It's easy to see why this place is so underappreciated. The coastline is rugged and made up of steep hiking trails and primitive campgrounds. It's not exactly easily accessible. However, it's so worth the effort it takes to explore this incredible region.

Ferndale is a small town that is just bursting with charm. It's hard not to fall in love with this place right away. Historic Victorian buildings line the streets, making this place look like something straight out of a movie. With endless opportunities for shopping, dining, and recreation, it's hard to believe more people don't know about this lovely place.

Nestled outside of both Napa and Sonoma Valley, it's easy to forget that the quaint community of Healdsburg has a wine scene all of its own. These wineries are notably cheaper than the ones you'll find in Napa. On top of that, Healdsburg is home to the glorious Russian River—a delightful setting for all sorts of recreation. Not to mention the city's square is full of charming shops and eateries to indulge in.

Located in Plumas County, Lake Almanor is a popular place for locals but definitely doesn't get the love it deserves by the rest of the region. Comprised of 52 miles of pristine shoreline, the lake is a haven for outdoor lovers. Knights Ferry is one of those places that is just brimming with history. However, few people are aware of the treasures to be found within this small community. You'll definitely want to check out the Knights Ferry Recreation Area. This beautiful park is home to a century-old covered bridge which definitely had an important role in the area's history. Adventurers will love this place since it contains so many opportunities for kayaking, rafting, hiking, and more.

Compared to more well-known national parks like Yosemite, Lassen Volcanic National Park is a hidden gem. Full of steaming vents, splattering mud pots, hot springs, and other bizarre features, the park is a sight that must be seen. The park contains all sorts of hiking trails which lead you to perfect overlooks of the various volcanic features. It's crazy this weird wonder isn't bustling with people all of the time.

The "bowling ball" rocks are a unique geologic formation which took millions of years to form. A visit to this one-of-a-kind beach to view this odd natural wonder is a must.
