We don’t know about you, but we’ve often been told not to judge a book by its cover. It wasn’t so much a statement about how we perceive things, but rather that you can miss out on some real gems if you don’t take a closer look. And this is the case with Bistro 107 in Shasta, California. This unassuming roadside stop offers some of the best gourmet burgers in Northern California. Grab your taste buds and come along as we dive into some great finger lickin’ eats!
Located in Shasta, CA off Interstate 5, Bistro 107 looks very unassuming from the outside.
Even their hours, from noon to 8:30 pm every day except for Wednesday and Thursday (really?), might lead you to think there's really nothing much going on in here. But that's where you'd be wrong!
The menu here is quite extensive for a place this size. And it's the gourmet burgers that really draw folks here, from locals to travelers making their way through town.
Choose from about a half dozen different delicious burger varieties. All are served on a fresh brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles, and accompanied by French fries or a green salad. If you want to ramp your sides up a bit, for a dollar or two more you can substitute for garlic fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, or a cup of soup.
Paired with garlic fries, it’s the perfect roadside stop meal. Vegetarians and vegans will find something to suit them as well. You can opt for any of their burgers with a veggie patty, and if you have a special dietary need be sure to ask for a gluten-free bun.
When the weather is nice, sitting out on their inviting patio is a great way to enjoy a meal.
Among them are the coconut shrimp, a pastrami Reuben, wild salmon sandwich, citrus roasted beet salad, fire-dusted calamari, and boneless chicken wings, just to name a few,
If you’re looking for a great unassuming roadside stop—with great burgers to boot—be sure to stop at Bistro 107. It’s one of those places where you’ll definitely want to not only look past the cover but devour everything on each page inside!
