2. See a lighthouse with your own eyes.
Historic and beautiful lighthouses such as the one at Pigeon Point are scattered all along our coast. There's something pretty incredible about seeing one of these beauties up close.
3. Go wine tasting and explore a vineyard.
This one is a given. Northern California is primarily known for producing some of the finest wine in the country. Bonus points if you visit the majestic structure known as Castello di Amorosa in Napa Valley's Calistoga!
4. Play in the snow at Tahoe.
Some of the best skiing and snowboarding opportunities are right here in Northern California. Tahoe is pretty much a giant playground for adults that should definitely be taken advantage of!

Is there any better way of cooling off on a hot summer day? Whether you choose to kayak or tube, just remember it's all about relaxing and taking in the beautiful scenery. Oh, and don't forget to bring plenty of friends.
6. Drive through a redwood tree.
It's the thing to do when you visit any redwood forest. Nothing will make you feel smaller than driving through one of these massive trees. You'll find plenty of these "drive through trees" located off of Highway 101.

8. Venture bravely through an abandoned ghost town.
Our region is full of
abandoned ghost towns , but the most famous is the incredibly well-preserved town of Bodie. Strolling through the town you can really get a feel for what life was like during the town's heyday. If you're not eating them right out of the ocean, then you're doing it wrong. They taste even better when you catch them and shuck them yourself.
