Boasting beach access, hiking trails, history, and unparalleled views of the Pacific Ocean, there's something for everyone to enjoy at this breathtaking little park. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, and parking is available at a day-use lot just east of Highway 1.
Stillwater Cove represents everything we love about the Sonoma Coast, from the lush fern-filled forests to the rugged coastline that's filled with rock formations and hidden coves. It's the type of scenery that reminds us just how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful region of the Golden State!
The park is home to more than three miles of hiking trails. The Canyon Trail is a popular trek at only 1.6-miles. Following Stockoff Creek, the trail meanders through a canyon of towering redwood trees and bright green ferns.
Also hiding within the park is the historic Fort Ross Schoolhouse, and it definitely makes for an enchanting sight. A treasured landmark, the old schoolhouse was built in 1885 and was used by schoolchildren at Fort Ross before being moved to Stillwater Cover in 1974.
