The small city of Orland is located right on Interstate 5 north of Sacramento. It’s considered a rural agricultural community and not a lot of people are even aware it exists. It may be small with a population of approximately 7,000 people, but there’s some real gems hiding in this charming town. Many people passing through town stop by Farwood Bar & Grill for a quick bite and are pleasantly surprised that this place doesn’t serve your typical pub food. In fact, this small town pub might just be hiding the best food in the West.

Orland is a pretty typical small Northern California town. This tight-knit community doesn't boast a ton of attractions and it's a pretty quiet place to live. However, few people know that it's hiding a pretty amazing culinary gem.

The Farwood Bar & Grill looks exactly like any other bar on the outside. However, don't be fooled. This place is well-known among locals for serving up some seriously delicious food.

The bar has been in existence since 1916, back when it was known as a gentleman's bar called the Richelieu. Walking into the bar, you can really feel the stories that reside in this historic building. Even the oak bar has a long history. It was made in England and was used in San Francisco for some time before ending up in Orland.
