We’re so lucky to live in a region that is home to a countless number of hidden waterfalls that are worth looking for. Just when you think you’ve discovered them all, another one comes up that you never knew about before. If you love chasing waterfalls, then you’ll want to plan a visit to this secluded waterfall beach that boasts one of the most picturesque falls you’ve ever seen. The hike to the falls is relatively long, but you’ll find that the sight of the waterfall at the end was worth every single minute.
Hike to a stunning and rare waterfall via the Palomarin Trailhead near Bolinas, California. The hike to this beautiful waterfall is about eight miles out-and-back, but don't let that deter you. The trail leads you to a secluded waterfall beach that looks simply magical.
As you get further and further along, the trail begins to get narrower but you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the ocean. You'll meander along the top of the ocean cliffs for some time. Take your time and soak up the views!
After about four miles, the waterfall will come into view. This thing is absolutely gorgeous. Alamere Falls plummets down the cliffside for 40 feet before reaching the ocean. The sight is almost too beautiful to be real.
The trail leads you right over the top of the waterfall. The sight from above the waterfall is stunning, but you'll want to make your way down to the beach. The trail down is rocky and uneven, so use caution. Take as much time as you need making the descent to the beach.
Once you get down to the beach, you'll realize that the long trek was well worth it. The scenery is amazing! Be sure to take some photos, feel the sand in your toes, and splash around in the water for a bit before heading back.
The falls looks even more majestic from the bottom and it's a sight you won't soon forget. The area is secluded but well-known. You might come across other hikers during your time here but the beach still maintains an incredible sense of peacefulness
A note of caution: This is a popular hike, but it can be incredibly dangerous. Don't get too close to the cliff edges and use extreme caution when making the descent down to the beach. Don't attempt to descend to the beach during high tide because there have been cases where waves have dragged hikers into the surf. Finally, Poison Oak is known to grow along the trail so be sure to dress accordingly. Use your best judgement!
Have you visited Alamere Falls? This little waterfall beach looks absolutely magical. If you’re a fan of waterfall hikes then you’ll definitely want to do this one hike that takes you to not one, but FOUR waterfalls.
