Today, many of the old buildings like the hospital are in the process of possibly being restored, but there’s still plenty of haunting spots to discover, like Fort McDowell and the Angel Island Immigrant Station. The abandoned hospital is on Angel Island in San Francisco Bay. The entire island is included within Angel Island State Park and is the second largest island in the Bay after Alameda.

The hospital at Fort McDowel on Angel Island is accessible and fascinating. This is a century old structure, where signs of its various uses are still visible.

If the walls could talk here the history and stories would speak volumes. The sense of history includes both World Wars and the Cold War.
