San Francisco has always been a center for notable historical, social, and cultural trends. Anyone lucky enough to have grown up in San Francisco in the ’80s probably have some fun and wild stories to tell. Between a great music and arts scene and a terrifying natural disaster, here are 10 things you’ll remember if you grew up in the ’80s in San Francisco. Did we miss anything? 1. San Francisco Tour – 1980s
The 49ers in the 1980s won Super Bowls in 1982, 1985, and 1989. Joe Montana was a national and local idol too. Today, it seems the Giants are the local favorites, but that was not always the case.
You'll remember where you were and what you were doing (maybe cheering on the Giants at the World Series?!) when this massive trembler hit. The 6.9 was terrifying and caused much destruction in and around the city of San Francisco.

Some recall Tower Records giving away book covers with different artists on it back in the 80s, too. Cool!

At one time, the touristy Cliff House, had penny arcade games in the basement. Wow!

Zim's was around from 1949-1995, and considered the Bay Area's Unofficial Burger King. Perhaps you recall late-night burgers and milk shakes made from real ice cream at Zim's?
