The quiet small town of Chester is located in Plumas County about an hour and 15 minutes northeast of Chico, CA.
In and around town, you’ll find several different accommodation options, including small hotels and private rentals. For a romantic getaway, you might opt for a cozy bed and breakfast inn like The Bidwell House pictured above.

Chester attracts visitors from all over the state all year-round, as it features four full seasons.
During the spring and summer, you can enjoy a wealth of open green spaces around town. Each one offers a peaceful environment and makes a great place to meander, read a book, or enjoy a picnic lunch.
From coffee houses to small mom n’ pop restaurants, and more, you’ll find something that fits your particular tastes and desires. There is also a thriving Thursday farmer’s market from June through October where you can pick up some delicious fresh produce and other food stuffs from an array of vendors.
The ability to easily unplug, unwind, and get away from it all is so much of what makes this quiet small town so attractive. Just show up, kick off your shoes, and relax!

And of course, you’re only a stone’s throw away from the Lassen National Forest and Lassen Volcanic National Park, both offering an array of activities and interesting history.
Other things to keep you busy in town, if you so desire, include shopping, nature walks, and listening to live music performances. Chester also puts on a variety of annual events nearly year-round.
