The first thing that comes to mind when you think of a haunted house is probably a big, old-looking spooky mansion. The place featured here is far from the traditional haunted house you'd typically imagine. Instead, visitors of this attraction meander through a pirate themed park, complete with enough scares to make you sufficiently frightened!
Pirates of Emerson is a unique haunted attraction located in Pleasanton. For 27 years this haunted theme park has been considered the go-to place in Northern California during the month of October. This place is much more than your average run-of-the-mill haunted house and you're about to see why.
At Pirates of Emerson, visitors will be entering an environment in which they are actually part of the scenes. Special effects, robotics, animation, and interaction are all utilized in order to make you feel like you're truly in the world of the haunted park.
All in all, this place features five thrilling haunted attractions including "Pyscho Path", "The Haunted", "Holiday Horror", "Pirates of Emerson", and "Prison Panic". Additionally, each night also offers live music, mazes, a "misfortune teller", and much more frightening entertainment.
As you walk through the attractions, you can't help but feel as if you've been transported to some sort of terrifying world where ghosts and ghouls lurk around every corner. Pirates of Emerson prides itself in not using blood and guts to have an effect on people. However, they warn that the attraction is "extremely scary" and not recommended for children under 13 years old.
It makes sense that this attraction has been going strong for 27 years. This is truly a unique experience that you can't get anywhere else in the state. Tickets are $35 at the door and $30 online, with discounts for groups, additional walkthroughs, and "landlubbers" (those who wish to just enjoy the atmosphere and entertainment, without partaking in the attractions).
Pirates of Emerson is open to the public on certain days of the week through October. They'll be open from the October 18 through October 21, October 25 through October 28, and October 30 through October 31.
