The yearly show is put on by the Sacramento Orchid Society. Founded in 1947, the society is an educational organization that is dedicated to providing information on the cultivation of beautiful orchids in the greater Sacramento area.
The society hosts monthly meetings that are open to both members and non-members. The meetings are free-to-attend and often feature expert speakers from around the world. They are also a great opportunity for members to sell or trade plants with one another and create relationships with fellow orchid lovers.
The society is very active, and they are responsible for growing a large number of different orchid species and hybrids. You can see some of these gorgeous plants for yourself when you attend this year's Sacramento Orchid Show, which will take place on May 30 and 31, 2020.
This vibrant show will be in its 73rd year this year, and it will feature demonstrations, gardens, seminars, and a wide variety of orchid vendors. It's two full days of all-things-orchid, and it may just leave you inspired to start growing your own!
