Have you ever wanted to go on a safari and see exotic animals up close, but have never traveled to Africa to actually see this dream come true? Luckily for us here in Northern California, your wildest dreams can come true just a short drive away in Monterey County.
At Vision Quest Ranch in Monterey County, these majestic animals will walk right up to your front door and say good morning.
Day visitors can come and see the animals, but if you book a room through the "A Vision Quest Safari" style Bed & Breakfast, you will be fully immersed in the Safari experience for the evening.
You'll be served a continental breakfast by the elephants in the morning (really, the Ranch's staff members bring your food, and the curious elephants who accompany them might try to sneak a bite or two of your meal).
If you are concerned about the animals' treatment at this facility, here's what the website says about how they came to live here: '"Monterey Zoo is dedicated to providing professionally & humanely trained wild/exotic & domestic birds and animals for film, television, live productions, education and much much more. Monterey Zoo takes great pride in offering sanctuary to many animals that can no longer participate in entertainment or would otherwise not have a home or family."
Would you stay overnight here at Vision Quest Ranch and dine with the elephants? Check out our Facebook page for more unique Northern California Experiences.
