It’s definitely a well-loved spot in the community, but out-of-towners often find themselves making a special trip just to eat here too. The next time you’re in the mood for a classic burger in an old-school setting, look no further than this beloved restaurant. It’s bound to become a favorite of yours!
The legendary Alpine Drive Inn first opened in the town of Burney in 1956. It's since become a treasured staple in the community and it's a spot that every Northern Californian should visit at least once.
The best thing about this old-fashioned drive-in restaurant is the fact that it looks pretty much exactly as it did when it first opened. The building, signage, food—it's as if the restaurant has been frozen in time for the past 60 years.
In the summertime, you'll often see the patio crowded with hungry patrons enjoying their food and each other's company. The walk-up window makes it easy and convenient to put in your order while enjoying the drive-in's nostalgic atmosphere.
The food itself is just what you would expect at a classic burger joint like this. The yummy burgers come with all the typical fixings and with your choice of crispy tater tots or waffle fries.
Other drive-in classics include hot dogs, fish 'n chips, corn dogs, chicken nuggets, and chicken strips. They also boast a variety of sandwiches and local favorites like fried mushrooms and garlic fries.
No visit to a classic drive-in is complete without finishing it all off with a delicious soft-serve ice cream! Just be aware that the portions are very generous. Pictured below is the "small".
