If you are an avid wine drinker, you’ve probably visited many of the outstanding wineries in Northern California in regions like Sonoma, Healdsburg, the Russian River Valley, and Napa. Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars is located at 5766 Silverado Trail in Napa, CA.
Founded in 1970, it is named after a legendary elusive stag that once roamed the surrounding Stags Leap Palisades.
Considered to be a Napa Valley first-growth estate, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars gained worldwide fame when its Cabernet Sauvignon led the establishment to first place honors at the famous Judgment of Paris wine tasting in 1976.
Since then, the enterprise has continued to expand in both size and offerings. This includes the addition of the FAY Outlook & Visitors Center—named after local vintner Nathan Fay—in 2014. This is the perfect place to start your Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars experience.

There are quite a few wineries in Northern California that offer cave tours. But here you’ll find an amazing cave network encompassing an astounding 34,000 square feet of tunnels!
It is here that you can embark upon their popular Estate Wine Tasting & Cave Tour. For wine lovers—and those who may be new to it—it is a unique opportunity to learn about the science and labor involved with growing grapes and producing great wines, in addition to the history of the Stag’s Leap brand. Tour groups are limited to 10 guests, making it a much more intimate experience than your typical wine property tour.

In addition to the Estate Wine Tasting & Cave Tour, Stag’s Leap also offers a variety of other wine experiences.
