Yosemite National Park is one of the most spectacular natural wonders in Northern California. But, there is a little-known natural wonder in this Northern California national park that also deserves some attention — Gaylor Lakes. But, to enjoy it, you’ll have to put forth a little effort. However, to reach these alpine lakes, you must tackle the Gaylor Lakes Trail, one of the most underrated hiking trails in Yosemite National Park.
The trailhead to Gaylor Lakes is located just off Tioga Road. This is a 2-mile round-trip hike that is moderate in difficulty.

Be aware that Tioga Road is not open to vehicles during the winter. You will want to visit the national park’s website to determine if the road to the trailhead is open.
Along the trail, you will climb approximately 500 feet in elevation.
