You’ve probably never heard of this beautiful tree park in the small country town of Hughson. The Hughson Arboretum and Gardens is a lovely place to walk, run, or just explore the variety of trees and plants. This land for this Northern California arboretum was donated by local couple Judd and Margaret Sturtevant. Today, this arboretum is a hidden gem and lovely addition to Hughson.

After years of careful planning and preparation, the planting of trees for the arboretum began in 1994.

These trees included a variety of trees including ones with historical significance or rarity, creating a rich and diverse collection of plant life.
Not only does the arboretum serve as a place of relaxation and learning, but it also serves a venue for special occasions.

People can reserve the arboretum for events such as birthdays, anniversaries, and even Easter egg hunts!
Part of Margaret's vision included Margaret's Patio, a semi-private sanctuary within the arboretum. This unique space was designed to provide visitors with a serene and peaceful spot to enjoy.

The patio was bordered by five beautiful pink magnolia trees. These trees represent the five Sturtevant children, and create a natural and meaningful boundary for the patio.
