Originally opened in 1976, The Bookstore is an extremely beloved part of the community. It originally was located at 337 Broadway in downtown Chico. Today, it stands proudly at 118 Main St., which it has inhabited since 1992.

In fact, the community rallied to save the bookstore when it threatened to close back in 2013. At the time, the original owner was ready to close up shop. As a result, new owners had to hurry and come up with a big chunk of change in order to purchase the store and keep it going. With the help of the community, they did just that.
