Some houses are just made for decorating with Christmas lights. Many beautiful homes in the East Sacramento neighborhood called the “Fab Forties” will be decked out all season. If you’re eager to glimpse these beautiful homes, take the Sacred Heart Home Tour.
This annual tour takes place the first weekend of December. It's a great way to start the holiday season! Tickets cost $30 if purchased online and $35 in person.
Will Call is located at Sacred Heart Parish School. If you want to purchase tickets on the tour they can be bought at the house on 39th Street (there will be signs).
The neighborhood is called the “Fab Forties” since many of the grandest homes in the downtown area are built on streets numbered in the 40s.
The "Fab Forties" neighborhood actually goes from 38th street to 47th street in East Sacramento.
A ticket gets you entry into five beautiful houses that are decorated for the holiday season. And you can expect them to be very aesthetically pleasing since the houses are decorated by local professional decorators.
The school also hosts a Cafe and Holiday Boutique where you can enjoy a sandwich, soup, holiday treats, and even champagne. Shop for everyone on your list at the holiday boutique where more than 25 local vendors sell handmade goods.
The Sacred Heart Home Tour started in 1973 and benefits the Sacred Heart Parish School. After a two-year hiatus, this annual tour is back in full swing.
Proceeds go to help offset the cost of tuition and offer assistance to students who may not otherwise be able to afford the private school tuition.
Anyone who enjoys interior design will love every second of this tour. It’s also a great way to get some Christmas decorating inspiration.
Can’t wait for the tour? Click on the "Virtual Tour" tab on the Sacred Heart Home Tour website to view images plus a virtual tour of several decorated homes.
The architecture in the “Fab Forties” neighborhood includes Craftsman, Tudor, Colonial, Mission Revival, and more.
This beautiful and eclectic neighborhood is a must-see sight in any walking tour of downtown Sacramento.
