The beach itself can be found right where Greenwood Creek flows into the ocean. The town of Elk was originally called Greenwood, as well—named after early homesteaders in the area known as the Greenwood brothers.
Visitors can access the beach by following the trail from the beach's parking lot, located right across from the Elk Store. At the bottom of the trail, you'll be greeted by the incredible sight of a driftwood-covered beach and bright blue ocean waters.
It's easy to get swept up by the beach's breathtaking views. The rock island known as Gunderson Rock is one of the area's most striking features, plus the endless sea stacks and rock arches that surround it.
