Outdoor fun in Northern California is abundant during the wintertime, especially right after it snows. The arrival of that fluffy white stuff means opportunities for snowball fights, making snowmen, and of course, sledding! NorCal is filled with sledding spots, but the giant sledding hill at Granlibakken in Tahoe just can’t be beat. Check it out this winter and have yourself a snowy day of family fun.
Bundle up and head on over to Granlibakken Resort in Tahoe City for a winter day filled with family-friendly fun. Home to 74-acres of wooded beauty, this resort is the place to be on a snowy day in NorCal!
Granlibakken is a picturesque alpine getaway. It's home to lodging accommodations and a variety of on-site activities, including hills for skiing and snowboarding and trails for hiking and biking.
However, it's the massive sledding hill you surely don't want to miss. Surrounded by snow-covered trees, the Granlibakken Sled Hill is one of the best around, and you could spend an entire day taking full advantage of it.
In order to ensure the safety of staff and guests, there are a few rules to abide by this winter season on the Sled Hill. Face masks must be worn whenever physical distancing can't be achieved, and all sledding tickets must be purchased online ahead of time.
Guests can reserve time on the hill in half-hour blocks between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Sledding tickets cost $20 per person (kids under 3 sled for free.) Sleds and saucers are provided by Granlibakken, so there's no need to bring your own.
The Sled Hill is open daily, and there's even a food truck on-site for when you need to refuel. If you feel like branching out, consider exploring the resort's famous Ski and Snowboard Hill or the cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails.
You'll be making plenty of unforgettable winter memories when you visit this mountain resort in Tahoe City. Check out the Granlibakken website for more information and to reserve your spot.
