If you grew up in Northern California like I did, you remember going on field trips. If you had an older brother or sister you knew which ones were on the horizon. Luckily, we live in a part of the state where we can enjoy anything from nature hikes to science museums. Pick your poison, we’ve got it all here for kids of any age. Maybe it’s time you stopped by one of these places again, for old times sake. You might even learn something this time.
Penguins, a planetarium, or even the pleasure of checking out wildflowers...what part of God's creation do you want to learn about. It's all here people.
Located in The Presidio is the place where all of you Disney fans can learn een more than you can imagine about your favorite park's creator. Mickey Mouse would love for you to come by for a visit.

It's pretty safe to say John Muir had a passion for nature. He lived in Martinez where he raised a family and wrote about his adventures around some of the most beautiful places in the world. Because of Mr. Muir’s writings we can thank him for convincing the U.S. government to protect Yosemite, Sequoia, Grand Canyon and Mt. Rainier as national parks.

If your kids are under 5 then this is your place. I think one woman said it perfectly, "There's a big railroad that kids can play and build right in the front of the place and a water area where they have dip their hands in the water and build and race. One of my daughters favorite places is the paint area where kids can get crazy and crafty with markers and crayons, and also paint all over a big window in all sorts of colors.
Plenty of things for kids to do, even a small "cushiony" area for kids under 3 to play and explore. Highly recommend this for parents who want their kids to play and run around."

The rugrats love this place. A working farm producing veggies and grains. There is a lot to see here: A railroad, railroad museum, mansion, free-range chickens, farm animals, and some hands-on historic activities. You can enjoy a picnic and even be a part of collecting eggs from the chickens. How cool is that?
You don’t have to be a kid in school to enjoy a field trip. Pack a lunch and throw the kids in the car. Then head out and make some family memories.
