1. Sinclair Family Farm, Penryn
If you want meat that was farm raised and happy, then you really need to purchase from the Sinclair family. Unlike a lot of places, they are very upfront about how their animals are treated because they have nothing to hide! Their loyal customers purchase beef, pork, chicken, and lamb here and have nothing but great things to say.
2. South Fork Farm, Placerville
This seasonal farm in between Placerville and Coloma sells their radishes, green onions, kale, carrots and other veggies, but the best is their fresh baked bread. It just might be the best loaf you can find along the West Coast. It's also really amazing because it's located across the street from a national historic landmark. The

3. Ocean Air Farms, Crescent City
This farm stand up on California's Northern Coast near Crescent City is a great place to pick up your local produce. The stand is right on the road and you can see the fields where your food was grown right behind it.
4. Warfield Farms, Red Bluff
A hidden gem off highway 99, Warfield farms carries the best nuts. Any variety you desire, from walnuts, to almonds and pecans, is homegrown here and sold with a smile to people just like you.
5. Sunset Ridge Mandarins, Newcastle
Fresh, ripe mandarins and lemons from the tree are nothing like what you would purchase in the supermarket. Do yourself a favor and buy some delicious citrus homegrown from this family establishment before the winter, the peak season for this fruit, is over.
6. Sun Mountain Farm, Camino
This low key, quieter farm off the beaten path is an enjoyable apple picking experience compared to the larger and more well known Apple Hill farms in this region. Simply show up and grab a bag from the friendly staffers before heading out into the orchards to pick your own fruit. Tasting is encouraged!
7. Uphill Vineyards, Amador City
A list of top Northern California agricultural experiences would be incomplete without at least one winery! We love the mountain tasting rooms located among rows of bright green vineyards, like Uphill in the Amador wine region. The icing on the cake here is that they also have air conditioning!
8. Cardanini’s Pumpkin Patch, Camino
This place does pumpkin picking the old fashioned way. At a lot of places you will just walk the rows of precut gourds before finding your favorite. Here, the arm you with the sheers and the wheelbarrow to pick them right off the vine and haul them back yourself. It's a fun atmosphere the family will love.
9. Grandma’s, Healdsburg
At Grandma's farm, you'll really feel like part of the family. Not only do they have face painting, animals you can get up close and personal with, and lots of pumpkins to pick from during the fall, they also have a clean, well maintained changing station so families with little ones feel comfortable staying here for hours.
10. Alpaca On the Rocks, Weed
This Alpaca farm is home to 12 of these magnificent creatures as well as mini horses, donkeys, a mule, pigs, dogs and cats. It's open on the weekend to stop by, but please call ahead at the owner's request to tour during the week. Local artisans use the alpaca's in their weaving, spinning, needle felting and other fiber arts.
