Family-friendly parks have definitely changed over the years. In lieu of the standard plastic playground equipment and dirt surface areas, you’ll increasingly find engaging and imaginative structures like wooden forts, vista towers, and more!
Situated in a beautiful, treed area of the Rockridge-Temescal Greenbelt in North Oakland, FROG Park is a neighborhood fixture.
The biggest attraction here is the extensive wooden fort area featuring several creative play areas. In it, kids can use their imagination and pretend they are a gatekeeper, explorer, train conductor, or other fanciful adventurer.
Families with small children come from all over the area to enjoy the wide range of apparatus that engage and excite.
The name of the park (FROG stands for Friends of the Greenbelt) is a sort of tribute to the many citizens who put in a lot of hours, love, and commitment to bring this neighborhood treasure to fruition.
A lot of safety features have been included as well, yet fashioned so they don’t feel so stark and cold, but rather like a natural part of the structures.
If you’re looking for a fun, engaging, and safe neighborhood park, FROG Park should definitely be on your list!
Have you been to FROG Park? If so, what did you and your family enjoy the most? We’d love to see your photos and hear about your experience there.
