People have actually been taking advantage of this wonderful hill for decades. Palisades Tahoe was first developed by the California Conservation Corps in the 1930s for skiers. Today, it is fitted with amenities such as a parking area, vault toilets, and fire rings.

Family outings are popular at Palisades Tahoe, but adults should definitely keep an eye on kids as they race down the hill. The hill is notably tall and fast. Visitors should always walk on the side of the hill when going uphill since sledders don't have much control when sliding downhill.
